Welcome to Side Notes by Sir Phil
Welcome to the House of Le Grand. Here, within the quiet alcove known as Side Notes by Sir Phil, you enter a reading room with no fees and no thresholds, a place where the doors never close and the light is always on. This is where we share what is stirring behind the walls of the House of Le Grand, a space of gentle announcements, whispered updates, and windows into the ongoing tapestry of creation.
Consider this your personal news chamber. Whenever a new text is released in one of the House’s reading rooms, you will find a brief glimpse here, along with directions guiding you to the correct hall and its newly placed work. While some rooms of the House may at times request a contribution and others remain entirely open, this is your chamber to linger in for as long as you wish, discovering what the House has brought into being.
Allow us to introduce the reading rooms of the House of Le Grand:
-
First, beside this very chamber, is the drawing room which houses The Atlantean Chronicles by Sir Philippe Le Grand. Here you may witness the slow forging of a novel. It is a place of inspiration and irregular rhythms, where creativity resists discipline and wanders freely. Thoughts and feedback are always welcome, yet do step carefully. This is a room of fertile chaos. Whenever something new surfaces, you will hear about it here on Side Notes.
-
Next, you will find Dispatches, a room dedicated to thoughts and commentary on the aviation industry and its leaders. Fear not, this is not a hall filled with travel reviews or booking advice. Rather, it offers a different angle entirely, a view into the human mechanisms and narratives that shape the skies. One or two new pieces are usually added each month.
-
Another room awaits you under our roof: On Sir Phil’s Shelf. Every fourteen days a short book reflection takes its place here, spanning science fiction, essays, poetry, fantasy, and belletristic writing. Nothing is excluded. Whatever lands in Sir Phil’s hands may be transformed into a short-read companion, perfect for a quiet morning with coffee or tea.
-
And finally, beyond these stands the Guest Rooms. Here, voices from across the world are invited to display their work. Some visits are fleeting, others become long and cherished stays. One of our long term collaborators is Inari, a Nordic niche leadership consultancy generously offering texts on systems psychodynamics for all who visit in the guest room The Inari Papers.
Updates in the Guest Rooms appear as they wish, beyond the control of the House itself. New guests will continue to arrive. Some will offer their work freely, others may request a small contribution. All bring their own light.
Now you have received a sense of what awaits within the House of Le Grand. The corridors are open. Go, wander, explore, discover.
You are warmly invited to comment on the pieces you enjoy or to offer thoughtful feedback. Remember that the House of Le Grand is a place of gentle folk. We value courtesy, fairness, and friendly discourse. Should any behaviour arise that falls short of what befits a gentleman or gentlelady, it will be addressed promptly. If you notice anything out of order, please let us know through the contact forms or by sending an electronic letter to correspondence@house-of-le-grand.com.
Thank you for stepping inside. The House is yours to enjoy.
